Weekend in the Windy City

This week has been full of EVENTS! The week did not start out the way we wanted it to though. Daddy and a deer went head to head and neither party won! I am glad I was not in the car, it did not sound like a fun experience. The good thing, daddy was alright and the car is already in the shop.

We were able to attend Uncle Steven Tucker's birthday party on Tuesday. It was a blast! He turned the big 18! We had pulled pork sandwiches and fruit. Uncle Brian came over from Ypsilanti to celebrate as well. I had fun hanging out with those guys!

On Sunday Mom and I went to Chicago to meet up with Daddy. He was already in town celebrating the upcoming marriage of Brook Bisonet over the weekend. Though the weather was cold and windy, we did not let that stop us from having a great adventure in the "Windy City". Our friends Sy and Kate Spears joined us for our activities.
Mom and me in front of the Wrigley building.

Surrounded by my favorite cartoon characters! Notice my shirt, go Cubs!

Apple store. Dad was getting more information on an upcoming purchase.

This is my boy Sy. He was messing with me and putting his hat on me! I did like it though!

Mom and I checking out the Chicago River.

At our hotel we had a lot of fun. There was a swimming pool on the 10th floor. I found myself in there twice. It was neat being able to swim and look out over the big city.

Under the Hancock Building there is a great restaurant called the Cheesecake Factory. It was very creative inside. It was all covered in copper.

Our last stop before coming home was to the Shedd Aquarium. It was such a great experience. There were so many colorful and large fish. I had a chance to see a few sharks and even sit on a turtle.

Hope you enjoyed my little trip as much as I did.

Slides

I went to my first birthday party this past weekend. We were celebrating Avah Gaston's 2nd birthday and we did it at a really cool place called the Treehouse. Wow!!! I had never been on a slide before that day. It was so FUN!!!! Here I am playing with my favorite toy (balls) in a big padded play area. It was nice because I could tumble and fall and it didn't hurt.

Daddy and I went through the big treehouse, jungle gym thing and came down a really big slide. Weeee!!!!!

Here we are playing with the big kids.

This is Avah's brother Bennett. Our dads are good friends so I expect we will become good buddies too. I made him laugh so I think that's a good start to a friendship.

It was so exciting to meet and play with kids my age. They are really entertaining and speak my language. Ahhh...how refreshing!

Since I seemed to enjoy the slide so much indoors, my parents took me to a nearby school to play on an outdoor jungle gym with lots of slides. I had a blast!!!

Happy Spring!

Sun is Good

Happy Monday friends. I have really enjoyed the warm weather we've been having lately. I had not been out for walks since I was a little guy. Boy...what fun it is to play outside. Dad finished up basketball this past week. Now I get to hang out with him lots more! Yay!

My crawling skills were not inhibited by the outdoors. I have become a master of the crawl in just a few short weeks. I am contemplating my next move...maybe walking? This is one of my favorite "bahs" to throw and fetch.

This is the crazy squirrel that lives in my yard. He shows no fear. He almost came right up to me the other day. I wasn't scared but I think the squirrel made my mom and dad a little nervous.

I love to pick up pieces of ANYTHING. I love fuzz, dirt pieces, leaves, hairballs, really anything I find I like to pick up and taste. I think this was the last of a leaf I took a bite of. Mmmmm...good.

I've DONE IT!

So...it happened. I finally crawled on Wednesday, March 4th. It was exhilirating! I had been practicing for weeks and then I finally figured out how to move my hands and feet at the same time. I love being able to get from room to room in no time flat! I have even discovered stairs, the plunger, and Wrigley's dog bowls. Wrigley even let me try some of his food. I thought it was delicious but Mom won't let me have anymore. The world is getting bigger and bigger now that I can move to see it. I wonder what I will discover next. Everyone keeps talking about walking? Not sure what that is but it sure sounds fun. In the meanwhile, I will enjoy throwing my basketballs and crawling to fetch them. Did I tell you I can throw with both hands? Daddy is really pumped about that!
Here I am at my first swimming lesson at the YMCA. It was a blast. I was the youngest kid there but seemed to be the most comfortable in the water. I showed the kids how to splash and kick. I can't wait to go back again next week
Daddy and Mommy said it's time to retire my baby carseat and upgrade to my big boy seat. That's cool I guess. I really had a great time playing in the box it came in. I think it makes a great fort.
It's been a wild week. I seem to be changing faster than I can keep up with. I heard word that my birthday is coming soon. I can't wait to see what that means.
Spring is springing...slow but sure. I watched some baseball this weekend with my dad. He tells me that we will play soon. I can't wait!

If You're Happy and You Know It...

...CLAP YOUR HANDS!!! I love that song. We sing it often around my house because I know the motions that make the song so much fun plus the song reflects how I feel most of the time.

See!

Hope you all have as much joy in your life as I do! I hope to have BIG news for you next week.

Stay tuned.
